and I am so looking forward to this month!

I feel like I've taken the last 5 months off. Running, scrambling, chasing, calling, flying, answering, asking, etc. Life is CRAZY. But it's my life.

And while I may not be up-to-date with scrapped "twelve" pages...I do have the pictures. I have the proof that I was there, and the pages will come together soon.

If you haven't seen THIS TUTORIAL from my friend, and fellow Twelver, you should check it out! Cathy makes the process so easy. Making a grid in Photoshop/PSE is a piece of cake! And the twelve-photo-grid she demonstrates is IDEAL for you-know-what!

Hmmmm...wonder why she chose twelve!?!?

Anyway - I promise to dive back into communicating, blogging, scrapping and sharing pages. Because that finishes the process!

I love weekend twelfths...not because they are really different. But because they show a different side of life. A different speed and pace of "normal".

What will yours look like? Here's a hunch of what my pictures will include...

- how many sixteen year olds are sitting around the breakfast table?
- who wanted blueberry, who wanted plain?
- orange juice or cran-raspberry juice
- showers or bath
- shampoo or conditioner
- how's the bathroom look "after" the preparation
- when did the other family members appear
- who sat where in the family van
- when we show up at the barn, who is early - who is late
- what time did the dirt and fencing arrive
- shovels or rakes
- seeds or plants
- water or Gatorade
- how long does it really take, according to my watch, to build 20 lamb pens
- just how dirty are FFA kids after said pens are built
- what did the car thermometer read at the end of the work day
- what condition was the kitchen in, after being gone all day long
- how early was bedtime, after a long-hot-and-sweaty-work day

I hope that gives you a few ideas of how we do this around here! If it moves, breathes, laughs or is related to you...SHOOT IT.

There is time to decide/edit later! Today we shoot, tomorrow we edit.

Prove you were here...it's your life. Don't be afraid to show the normal, the routine, the untidy, the spontaneous!

July twelfth is upon us...

which means we're officially into the second half of 2009!

That's just sounds plain CRAZY! Only five more twelfths this year! EEK!

You know the concept - twelve pictures OF your life, the twelfth OF the month!

You know the routine - pictures of everyone, everything and everywhere you go on the twelfth!

You know the outcome - we scrapbook the resulting twelve pictures!

You also know my pattern - a day late and a month behind...but I'm working on it!

The list of participants continues to grow - I LOVE IT! Pages continue to get done, and I see them popping up everywhere! In galleries, on blogs, in contests and in magazines. I LOVE IT even more!

I am trying desparately to get the flickr.com gallery working seemlessly. If you'd like to be able to upload your finished "12-of-12" page to the official gallery, CLICK HERE to join the group. Then you can upload your own page, whenever it is done, and you won't be waiting for me to post it here. {I think I've proven that I'm not always punctual with that system!}

Joining flickr.com takes only a few seconds, and I think will provide us with a great avenue to share, and look, and comment, and praise all of the resulting "twelfth" pages! I hope you'll agree!

I'm processing my own pictures from last Sunday - and need to edit them down to a manageable twelve. Then - it's time to scrap!

because believe it or not - it's almost here!

Tomorrow is the twelfth - which means it is time to charge your batteries, clear your memory card, and stash your camera somewhere where you'll find it first thing tomorrow morning!

Hello again twelvers!

Today is the eleventh - and holy cow it's June already. Who is in charge of this calendar and how can I make it slow down????

But summer is upon us - school is out - and the craziness the follows the heat is probably in full swing. Sounds like a GREAT time for "12-of-12"!!

Grab your camera, charge your batteries and clear off your memory card. Yep - right now. This very second...scoot!!

Now go and set it next to your alarm clock, next to your bed. Or if that's too much for you - set it in your bathroom, or wherever you will go tomorrow right after waking up. Add a Post It if you need to (but usually the camera sitting on the toilet is enough of a mind-jogger...even at 5:45 am!!!), but do it now!!

Okay - so you're all set for tomorrow morning! COOL!

Start taking pictures tomorrow, when you wake up...then shoot all day long. Shoot it all, shoot everywhere and shoot it with reckless abandon. It's all necessary to capture your life - as you remember it, on the 12th of June!

As suggestions:

- who slept next to you?

- was the ceiling fan on?

- coffee or tea?

- headed to work, or another day of summer?

- cartoons in the morning?

- summer school or swim lessons?

- lunch plans?

- laundry or vacuuming?

- cool enough to play outside

- vegetable garden or flower pots?

- afternoon snack or all-day-nibbles?

- DVD or VHS?

- iPod or iTunes?

- email or snail mail?

- flip flops or sandals

- books or magazines?

- games or dress up?

- dining in or eating out?

- Friday night date night or hanging at home?

- early to bed or staying up late?

The only "rule" - one self portrait! Come on - it's FUN! In the mirror, at arms length or taken by someone else...but a shot of yourself, somewhere, today, living LIFE!

Then as soon as you can - upload all of your photos and edit the batch down to twelve. Yep - twelve and only twelve! Just do it fast and furiously...EDIT, DELETE, MOVE ON!

These quickly chosen twelve pictures will now become your scrapbook page...documenting your life...twelve pictures OF your life, the twelfth OF the month!

WOO HOO - let's do it. For the sixth time this year!!!

Then - if you haven't already joined the flickr.com group - do so today! That's where we'll upload and share our pictures/pages for everyone to have a peek into our twelfth!!

happened to January. Seriously - it was here just a second ago. And now it's February 10th!

But in all honesty - I guess time speeding by beats the alternative! It's all in your perspective!

WRAPPING UP 2008...

with an eye towards 2009.

I ended the year with over 300 names on my distribution list. WOW! That's amazing.

But surely more of you are playing along. More of you are taking your pictures. I mean, it's not like I ever get emails saying "take me off of this stupid list". So I press on - hoping that eventually more and more people will feel the "pay it back" attitude and send me their completed pages.

I work hard to keep my email list up-to-date, I also do my best to get reminder emails out on the 10th of the month. I know, the later half of last year was a bit hit-or-miss, but at least it got to you before the 12th. Didn't it?

So yes - this is me whining just a bit. If you don't want to participate anymore, that's fine. I understand. Just go ahead and send me an email and I'll take you off of the list. Lord knows we don't need any extra emails, clogging the ol' IN BOX. But if you DO play along, and if you do get your pictures taken - share your accomplishment. Everyone can gain insight and inspiration from posted pages. And my goal this year is to have pages posted one week after the 12th.

I heard there is a group of ladies on a message board that is running their own group - posting pages, sharing ideas, etc. Play WITH US TOO girls. Spread the love, we want to see your pages!

Okay - enough whining for now. I promise. Luckily I get enough awesome emails a month to outweigh the lack of pages some months. I get emails telling me things like:

I snapped the last picture ever taken of grandma on the 12th, because you reminded me to. Grandma passed away the following weekend. I wouldn't have taken a picture that day if you hadn't have "bugged" me to!

I lugged my camera around all day, snapping picture, laughing at how nothing exciting was going to happen on a Tuesday...and then my 9 month old took her first steps! My camera was ready and I caught it - LIFE HAPPENS every day!

My kids love looking at my album from 2007 - they remember those days so well. Just ordinary, routine, typical days. Strangely enough - THOSE are the pages that they seem to have to most stories about. The pictures spur memories of other "routine" days. I've made so many awesome pages based on their stories of LIFE!

You ladies make my day! Heck, some of the comments make my MONTH! And what you don't know is - a lot of these "special emails" I print out and tuck behind my completed 12-of-12 pages for those months! I'll never forget your stories. And I thank you for sharing them with me!

HAVE YOU NOTICED A PATTERN...

developing lately? I post all of last month's pages right before it's time to shoot this month's pictures!

GRRRR - I hate it when I'm so busy I can't think. But let's face it - busy beats bored any day of the week! So today is catch-up day...for November.

Everyone did such a great job sending in their finished pages - got lots of fun stuff to look at and a few good "photo stories" that were shared. I LOVE IT!

And as for everyone else - well it appears they are all still working on their pages! Either that or their pictures are still parked on their digital cards. Or they haven't been edited. Or life got in the way.

Something BIG! Stay tuned - that's all I can say!

Emails for December 12th are going out tonight. This is a great twelfth for two reasons:

1. it's the last one of 2008, so we have to make sure it's the best we can do!!

2. and it's a FRIDAY...and Friday's always are full of fun, evidentiary photographs!!

Seriously - wasn't it just the 12th like a day or two ago!

I figure a few more weeks, and I can come up for air. Until then - you're just going to have to cope with my "day late and a dollar short" mentality. My intentions are really REALLY good. My timing just sucks!

So here it is - technically still the August 10th. And I"m just now posting everyone's pages to the blog - - - from JULY! You all have been wonderful - taking your pictures, editing your pictures and scrapping your pictures. I'm jealous. But while you have had time to do your pages - I earned almost 10,000 frequent flier miles in the last 4 weeks. And that counts for something.

June 12th, 2008 is in the books. Well, almost. Let's just say for now - the pictures have been edited and my montage assembled.

The page for my book, well that can wait until tomorrow. It's been a busy enough day already!

TODAY IS THE DAY...

that we get ready!

I don't know what happened to the first 10 days of this month, but sure enough, today is the 11th! I think it might be the heat. Because it couldn't possibly be the fact that I'm getting older! Could it?

Anyway - it's the day before. The day we charge our batteries. Clear off the memory cars. Put a new roll of film in the camera. Warn the family. Maybe even vacuum the family room?

Oh heck, save the vacuuming for tomorrow - that way you can photograph it!

Tomorrow we take pictures. Of our days. Of our errands. Of our accomplishments. Of our friends. Of our families. Of the things around us. Of all the crazy things that make up this 24-hour period called TODAY!

Last month our response was down a bit - and that is my fault. I left town the day after the 12th and it put a hitch in my get-along. I never sent out a "wrap up" email. I didn't beg you for your layouts. I didn't pester you until you scrapped. So I'll take the blame for May's low responses. I'm sorry!

But, there is still time to catch up today. Grab those 12 pictures, whip out a layout and send it to me. I'll add it to May's list and you can rest easy knowing that you did it!

Otherwise, tomorrow starts a new project. The "June 12-of-12" for 2008. We're half way through this year - and I'm loving it! I love looking back at my "twelfths". So do my kiddos. The changes that have taken place in just 6 months are amazing!

Which makes for crummy follow-through on my part. For that, I apologize.

But I'm back from New Hampshire - and have gone through my IN BOX, opened all of the mail, restocked the fridge and gotten caught up on the laundry.

April 2008...

and I sense that this is going to be an amazing month!

Almost THREE HUNDRED emails went out last week. Three hundred! Sheesh! How cool is that?

Well by the sounds of it - people took pictures, made notes, edited their batches and had a lot of fun. Today I've been getting emails from people sharing their thoughts. Boasting of their discoveries. Saying funny things about the type-os in my emails.

And sharing their pages!

I'm here to post mine - and then I've got a date with a high schooler.

Then tonight I'll compile everyone that has finished their pages - and add them to a running list!

If you're not done...DON'T PANIC. Just keep working. Keep thinking. Keep editing. Keep the faith!

Trust me - it'll come together! It always does!

This came together for me in about 20 minutes. WOO HOO! I love it when that happens!

I used Cathy's template from last month - but printed it a bit larger than I did last month. This would have been done in about 12 minutes if I hadn't spent so much time sticking those dang-teeny Making Memory letters down.

and what a wrap-up it's turning out to be!

Lots of questions. Lots of fun, excited scrappers. Lots of people who "get it" now. Lots of newbies feeling like old pros.

I LOVE IT!

Of course, you'll notice that I have not posted my own yet. And I have to blame it on the chickens. It's totally their fault. We're in chick mode here at this house - and it has diverted my attention in a serious way.

But here are the pictures...the page is coming this afternoon, once the chicks are all settled and tucked in! REALLY!

March 12, 2008...

First picture of the day, at 3:40 a.m. One of the joys of being diabetic, and wearing an insulin pump, is the possibility of a "blocked tubing" alarm in the wee hours of the night. Luckily, I've learned to deal with such alarms in under 90 seconds!

Off to the high school bus stop - and with a 7:20 a.m. temperature of 57 degrees, it's shaping up to be a beautiful day!

Before the boy heads off to school - he takes our youngest dog out for a round of one-on-one. And trust me when I say, there are times when she wins!

Spending today with my girlfriend - and our first stop is Coldwater Creek. Love this store, love their sales associates and LOVE their spring time sale! Together, we managed to lighten their inventory by a few bags!

A bite to eat at the local Irish Pub. (Our way of celebrating next week's holiday before the crowds!) Hot spinach and artichoke dip with toasted pita wedged...YUMMY! And she promised us...fat free!

A stop in at our favorite store for produce. I'm always afraid to bag any up...the whole aisle is like a finely built sculpture. But we did...strawberries, raspberries, apples and bananas.

At the checkout, time to head home. (Oh, and time to open those macaroons we bought at the bakery!)

Before the kids get home from school, a little garden time. Only thing planted so far are the tomatoes. But this weekend they will get neighbors!

This month's self-portrait. Gorgeous day, sun shining, blue sky make for great afternoon shadows on the grass!

Wednesday evening - - - time for American Idol. The vote here- none of us were sorry to see our local Phoenix boy go home.

Dogs were unimpressed with the excitement over American Idol. Instead they did what they do best...snuggle and sleep!

And finally, as I'm heading to bed I check my email one last time. I already had a completed 12-of-12 challenge in my IN BOX. Way to go Paula...way to go! Now - the scrapbook page my dear...

WHEW - since then it's been pure chick-chaos. My pictures are printed, my paper is laying out...just need my adhesive and a few minutes to myself and the page will be in the books!

In my next post I'll start listing everyone else who has finished their challenge as well!

We'll call this "twelfth eve".

My distribution list has swelled to almost 200 names. Unfortunately the follow though has been a bit slow the last couple of months.

But I have big hopes for March. Big, huge, page-producing hopes!

Of course, I myself am just finishing up my February page tonight...so I can't talk too much! February was crazy - so I gave myself a temporary pass. Feel free to give one to yourself as well!

There were a few responders with great pages!

I'll get everything squared away tomorrow...and we'll start fresh on Wednesday.

March 12-of-12...2008. Your reminder emails should have already arrived. I hope you're anxious to take part!

It's addicting. It's easy. It's real. It's life. Call it routine. Call it mundane. Call it run-of-the-mill.

OH, SHE HAD TO DO IT...

THIS month. Didn't she.

Mention me on her blog - when I haven't been good about updating for February.

Because I was in CA for CHA the 12th to the 18th last week.
Because my slow internet at the hotel frustrated me beyond belief.
Because when I got home to my smokin' internet I was hit hard with the flu.
Because the boy now has the flu as well.
Because when I type on the keyboard, the sound echos in my head and makes my eyes water.

She had to steer people here THIS MONTH!

Oh well, so be it. Come on in - read about "12 of 12" - the fun concept that has turned into a scrapbooking way of life for me. Read the sidebar - over to the right - and if you'd like to sign up for the email distribution list, drop me an email.

It's easy. It's fun. It's addictive. And even though I haven't gotten lots of links to completed pages...I do get lots and lots of great emails from ladies all over the world who say they are having FUN.

And isn't that what this crazy hobby called scrapbooking should be? FUN!

So CZ - next time give me a warning. Pretty puhleeze? Thank you! Other than that - I'm glad that your one-and-only 12-of-12 page made it into the "tells a good story" pile.

Time flies - and there is no sign of it slowing down any time soon.

My pictures are taken - and safely sitting in my camera. Dealing with slow hotel internet speeds is not what I have the patience for tonight - so the upload will wait until tomorrow.

Basic and easy and quick. Just how I like 'em! But documenting a wonderful weekend day with my family...just the same!

Please bear with me - this is life! Right?

First picture of the 12th, was taken just a few seconds into the day. As I turned out the light to go to bed Friday night I realized that the clock had JUST clicked over to 12:00 am. I couldn't resist!

First person to the breakfast table (almost every day!) is dear husband. As is his routine...Frosted Flakes, the paper and a couple of cups of coffee!

Before I even sit down to breakfast - I have to start the laundry. I have about 5 loads to do today, so I need to get the dreaded "sock and t-shirt" load going first.

Then it's into the kitchen to have my coffee, grab some peanut butter toast and catch up on the front section of the paper! (Thanks hon, for snapping my picture!)

After a long, hot shower - I dive into my new packages of makeup. Love new makeup - Bare Minerals and 2 new colors of lip pencil!

The teen and I head to the mall for some serious "retail therapy". She's got Christmas money burning a hole in her pocket and I am in need of some new khaki slacks. She scored in a serious way - I struck out everywhere I went. Story of my life!

After our day at the mall I stopped at home to pick up dear husband...we were off to pick up the boy's new mattress. DH and I were married when we got our first queen sized mattress - the boy is TWELVE! Oh how times change!!!

The sun set over the first twelfth of the year...gotta love Arizona winter sunsets!

After dinner a quick check of the email - more news on my Big Picture class that's coming up. I'm an alum this year - can't wait to do it this year...and really commit! Bring it on!

The guys sit down to watch Harry Potter - trying to snap a candid of them is tricky. Dear husband couldn't help but smirk as I snapped the picture!

Finally, almost 24 hours after the first picture of the twelfth was taken - it's time to head back to bed.

Test my blood sugar, brush my teeth and pop a few vitamins...and the day is done! Goodnight!

I'm off to print these out - and throw my page together!

Who else participated?? Who else played along?? I've already heard from a couple of you...and for that I thank you!

I'll start adding link this afternoon - but I've got to get mine blogged first!

So for November - here ya go...

A little bit of a late start...10:42 a.m. and dear husband decides to tackle the bills before getting started on the rest of the day. Thanks babe...I appreciate all you do!

Our "big boy" has always loved him some sun-spots, and at 11:00 a.m. the window from the front door reveals a big spot, right in the dining room. He always lays with his body in the warmth, never his head. I always wondered if sunglasses might help?

11:15 a.m. and I'm already on the 2nd load of laundry for the day. I figure I've got 3 more to do before I can cross that off the list for the day. Of course, tomorrow there will be more. There is always more!

Before starting lunch at 12:20 p.m., I need to at least clear a bit more space from my side of the desk. My least favorite thing to do - putting my scrap stuff away. But it's for a good cause - I have to finish up some class projects...and I need more space!

Get one page finished - just for FUN! When I have specific things to work on I try to do something fun first. Kindof gets my scrap-mojo flowing!

Our "little girl" has decided that if the sun spot is good enough for him, she should get some too! After a few minutes of circling she has totally wormed her way right into the center of his 1:20 p.m. spot. Poor guy!!

The teen has spent some time this afternoon about 2:00 ish, putting together a bracelet. This kit just showed up in the mail last week - I have no idea exactly where it's from. Some survey or postcard I answered or mailed in, I'm sure. But she had fun reading about how to make the knot closure - no metal hooks required!

About 4:00 p.m. it's time to address the kitchen. Lunch dishes are still sitting on the counter - big shocker there! Clean, tidy, load, unload, wipe, dry. Also need to find a home for the goodies I got last night from my girlfriend Leslie. Cool, fun, party picks. We decided they're food bling! Can't wait to serve up some shrimp and martinis - won't these look killer stuck through a big ol' olive? Thanks Les!

4:20 p.m. the sprinklers come on in the backyard - and I realize I wasn't done with the garden. We had intended to plant some lettuce today - but I guess we got sidetracked. The radishes and carrots however, are flourishing. And we've got lots of blooms on the tomato plants! Salad anyone?

About 7:30 p.m. I finally put the finishing touches on the class project I'm teaching this month. It's fun, easy and cuter than cute! It's a "Thanksgiving fold-up File Book". Can't wait to fill it up with our traditions and pictures from this year's feast!

Don't you just LOVE this adhesive? Red tacky tape is my fave - and it's a must for this latest project. But if you don't have it handy - the big dispenser of Trio tape will work just as well!

At 10:45 p.m. it's time for bed. Since DH is leaving first thing in the morning for a quick trip to San Francisco, I get to make flavored coffee. He hates anything flavored in the morning...so when he's home we're all Folgers. But when he's gone - I get to enjoy some coffee goodness! This was one other goodies from Leslie - can't wait to grind some up tomorrow morning! It'll go perfectly with the blueberry muffins the teen made this afternoon! Thanks girls!

WHEW - and that's TWELVE! I can't believe it's November. One more round of play next month and 2006 will be over!

JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME...

to call myself successful!

Successful at finishing my own challenge - ON THE DAY IT WAS ISSUED!

10:45 p.m. here in Arizona - and I'm done. Pictures taken. Edited and cropped. Put together in one nice document and VIOLA...I'm done!

So here are the photos:

And here is the witty commentary:

1. Not really the most nutritious breakfast - but when you've been gone for 6 days, and the pantry is pretty picked over, you grab for the junk the you hid in the back of the freezer for just such a morning! At least they were Low Fat!

2. Kids off to bus stops and car pools - time for a few chores. My least favorite of which is unloading the dishwasher. HMMM - maybe I'll wait for the teen to come home from school...

3. Visual proof that I was showered and dressed before noon today! Finally feeling un-jet-lagged this morning.

4. Realizing that all of my insulin pump supplies arrived while I was out of town - it dawns on me that it's Tuesday and time to change out my vial of drugs.

5. Finally - lunchtime. My new FAVE are these Triscuits...Black Pepper and Olive Oil. YUMM. With sharp cheddar cheese and some oranges I'm set for the afternoon!

6. The afternoon flies by and before I know it - time to pick up the teen. Today was their first day of swimming in PE class. Always a big hurdle to get past. But she's smiling - always a very good sign!

7. Should it really be 100Â° on the TWELFTH of SEPTEMBER? Or is this insane? I'm voting for insane!

8. The stealth trumpeter emerges from school. As soon as he sees me with my camera hanging out of the window - he shouts, "Is today the twelfth?". Then he goes in to commando mode to try to avoid me. HEH - didn't work boy!

9. Since the aforementioned pantry is still rather bare - we decide to hit our local Buffalo wing establishment for twenty-five cent Tuesday. Looks like a storm is blowing in over the Superstition Mountains. I love the view of the mountains from our golf course...

10. Three people - three dozen wings. Perfecto. But I refused to order a beer. When a dozen wings is only $3.00 it seems crazy to pay $4.00 for a beer. Pepsi all around!

11. The dogs knew where we'd been. They could smell the wings when we walked in the house. We carried some of it home - which only made it worse for them. Roughly 155 pounds of energy and fur - how could someone NOT love that!?

12. Kids in bed, dogs tuckered out, iTunes cranked - time for some scrapping. I am so loving the new Adirondack Paint Dabbers. Shocking - the Citrus Green is my current fave!

So that's it folks. Twelve shots of the twelfth of the month. Easy peasie - but oh so meaningful!

Of course, some out there say they are finished, but we never see proof of their participation. They shall remain nameless though - because I'm not one to point fingers.

I sent out the reminder to thirty-five of you! Got promises to play along. Got exciting e-mails in return, verifying the "rules". It was fun.

And I thought it was going to be even more fun for me - because I was traveling on the twelfth! Great travel shots. Airport shots. Cloud shots. Hotel room shots. How fun!

Yeah - well chalk that one up to great plans, gone awry!

Rushed travel, delayed planes, short connections, and dark airports don't make for easy picture taking. Four jam-packed days in Atlanta, followed by two fun-filled days visiting friends, capped off by returning home sick!

Actually, it doesn't matter! This morning I am GIDDY!

I've got a mailbox full of responses to the "12 of 12" challenge. Lots of people are done. As in photographed, loaded and posted. Several more have finished, they are just waiting to post or scrap the evidence.

I love it!

Congrats to everyone who took this on...and on a Monday none-the-less! Way to go!

Thanks to everyone - for tolerating my pestering...I'm persistent, but really, I'm harmless!

My twelve of twelve for June, 2006 -

6:13 a.m. - alarm goes off - WAYYYYY to early for me on a summer-Monday...but I promised my daughter we'd do our walking before it reaches 100° today!

6:20 a.m.. - PROOF that we threw on our shoes and walked! (I've never seen my tile grout in this light, or this closely, EWWWW!)

7:01 a.m. - This was the challenge from the "12 of 12" creator - to snap a picture at 10:00 a.m. EST - and include that in your pictures. Did you hear the shutters snapping all over the world? Well, mine was about 10 second too late!

10:45 a.m. - the first of several errands to run today. Home Depot for black matte spray paint and saw-tooth picture hangers. They were out of picture hangers! How does a huge hardware store run out of something so basic? UGH - this means I'll be hitting ANOTHER hardware store later...

11:06 a.m. - next stop is WalMart. Probably my least favorite retail establishment. But today, it's a necessity. In Arizona, in June, parking lots are all about shade. We may be parked 1.3 miles from the entrance, but heck, we're parked in the shade.

11:49 a.m. - moving right along, Harbor Freight is next stop on the list. Interesting store really, unique product offering, and lots of balding men roaming the aisles. Luckily, I knew what I was after and we were on our way quickly!

12:12 p.m. - Time to run home, feed the kids, and get the boy out the door to basketball camp. But the mail came early today - and it was a good mail day. The July Creating Keepsakes AND a postcard for the Coldwater Creek sale this weekend. While it's tempting to sit down and pour over my new magazine - must resist temptations. Save it for tonight! It'll be my carrot to get through the day!

2:45 p.m. It's like deja vu, all over again! Yep - you guessed it - ANOTHER Home Depot! This one had saw-tooth picture hangers - thank God! I could not have handled seeing another empty bin!

3:30 p.m. - I have a problem...but admitting it is half the battle, right? I can't put my shoes away. There is always a pile in the office. Right under my chair, in front of my patterned paper racks. It doesn't bother me - until the dog decides to carry one of them away, and I can't find it.

4:45 p.m. - Speaking of my office - this is what it looked like today as I finished up my second-to-last "100 things" project. It's a messy process because it's all about embellishments. But I did a pretty good job containing the clutter to one side of my work surface. YEP! this is contained!

6:57 p.m. - The frames are dry, after painting them matte black, so it's time to assemble them. These are the last two that need to go in the mail. They are for Father's Day. These two happen to be going to baseball players wives. They were a lot of fun to work on!

10:00 p.m. - At the doctor's office. But not because someone was sick! My friend's husband is an OBGYN - and he just opened a new office. They are running the whole office with Macintosh (way to go guys!), and we are having a few software issues. The best time to work on them is late at night, when the office is empty and quiet. We managed to laugh a lot, but also figured out how to fill out the appointment books! You'll notice she snagged my new magazine!

7:30 a.m. - Up early to get to 8:00 a.m. Mass at Holy Name Cathedral in downtown Chicago.

8:00 a.m. - This picture does not do justice to the beauty of this church. It is almost distracting during Mass.

8:41 a.m. - The front of the church (just in case you didn't believe where I was!). This church has bullet holes from the days of Al Capone. HONEST!

9:15 a.m. - AHHHH - hotel breakfast! How do I keep my girlish figure??

10:00 a.m. - A little RA time before my first meeting.

1:20 p.m. - After a half hour on the road, I have finally reached the freeway in downtown Chicago. This is not looking good!

2:25 p.m. - Now I've been on the road for an hour - and I've only gone 15 miles. I am finally to the tollway, so hopefully it will clear out a bit.

2:30 p.m. - Life on the road - I LOVE Arby's!!!

5:30 p.m. - Had to see a man about a horse. Actually, I read they have a used Diet Pepsi donation facility...I thought I would check it out!

6:00 p.m. - Home Sweet Home!

8:00 p.m. - All of the great places to eat in Indy...and I am at a chain. I think that is a sin - Father forgive me!

8:40 p.m. - A great end to a good day!

without further ado...the Keuter Crew - - -

7:08 a.m. - The boy was the first one to eat breakfast today - a wonderful Friday menu consisting of 2 strawberry Poptarts, Orange Creme Yoplait Yogurt and a glass of milk. A breakfast of CHAMPIONS!

7:57 a.m. - All through breakfast my insulin pump was "alerting" me that it was time to change my infusion set. Every 3-4 days I do this...not a big deal, it just takes a few minutes! Love my new inserter - that's the purple thing. Greatest invention since sliced bread!!

8:05 a.m. - Running a few minutes late for 8:00 a.m. carpool - but we'll make up time with the good tailwind this morning!

8:08 a.m. - 8:08 a.m. - We pulled in to pick up Audrey, and Cheri snapped a picture of US! Guess we could call that the "Dueling 12-of-12 Neighbors". We'll see if everyone gets the challenge completed! Good luck!

10:30 a.m. - Kids are at school, laundry is started, kitchen is cleaned up...time for a break. My latest addiction is a coffee concoction I make with Soy Milk, cold coffee, Almond Flavoring and crushed ice. DELISH!!

1:18 p.m. - The dogs spend the bulk of their day asleep. No shocker there! What is so cute is when they snuggle. It's like they can's sleep alone. Especially the little girl, here on the left, she has to be right up next to our big boy. If he moves, she'll wake up and track him down. It's the "dog dance" we witness all day, every day.

3:32 p.m. - As I sit outside the elementary school, waiting for the swarm of kids, I realize that the temperature has reached 100°. It actually doesn't seem that hot out - which I guess is a good thing. But once it hits 100° - there's really no denying it...summer is HERE!!

3:49 p.m. - Car full of kids, heading south on Val Vista Drive...approaching one of the worst intersections in Gilbert. To spice things up when you're driving, snap a picture of the car in front of you. This guy did a double take, adjusted his mirrors, turned around to get a better look - it was really quite funny. He finally picked up his cell phone - coincidence maybe - or he was calling the police, "yeah, there's a mom in a van behind me, taking pictures of my car..." Now THAT'D be funny!!

5:04 p.m. - Friday afternoon, a couple of errands to do and some unmotivated kids. A trip to Starbucks usually cures all that ails them in the attitude department. The boy was sampling my Greentea and Raspberry Frappuccino. It is a rather odd shade of green - but it sure is yummy!! Now in to Target, Staples and the bank.

6:48 p.m. - last stops before we head home - Blockbuster and the grocery store. The boy picked out "Last Holiday" with Queen Latiffa. We've seen it already - but it's a cute movie. And really, there aren't a lot of "kid" choices out there right now. Dinner, popcorn and a movie...it's going to be my kind of Friday night!

6:56 p.m. - We ran into the grocery store to grab a Rotisserie Chicken, along with some slaw and mashed potatoes. Nothing like quick-and-easy dining to go along with a fun family night at home!!

9:18 p.m. - After dinner, the movie and some tidying up - my neighbor Karen came over for a visit. We sat, talked, giggled and relaxed over a bottle of wine. We were sitting in the office, when the computer chimed in with a "video chat" invitation. It was my friends in Atlanta - the Willets family. They just got their new Mac laptop today - so they wanted to try out the iSight camera feature. TOO COOL! If only we could have shared our bottle of wine with them - it'd have been perfect!!

11:58 p.m. - The final moments of May 12th - and I realized I hadn't taken my "BONUS 13th PICTURE". The assignment was for a "self portrait". So, wine glass in hand I turned the ol' iSight back on and snapped a picture of myself. Easy peasey!! Nuff said!!

Hello! I'm Susan. I'm 6' tall, red headed and full of opinions...just ask me!

I carpool the teen and the boy around town, listen to podcasts with my dear husband and scrapbook the life we live as a family. I try not to worry about the little things, because in the end the little things tend to take care of themselves.
